About

       Petra McLay is a fourth-year student at Vermont State University, Castleton. They are due to graduate in May 2024 with a bachelor's degree in Technical Theatre. Mx. McLay has worked with most areas of behind-the-scenes theater production but specializes in costume design and properties design. They were employed by the university’s costume shop for four years as a shop attendant, working on productions like The IT Girl and The Mousetrap. For the shows Controlling Interest and Dog Sees God, Mx. McLay was the head costume designer. They were the properties master for multiple productions, such as A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Silent Sky, and You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. They were the lighting board operator for Dog Sees God, as well as the sound board operator and stage manager for The House of Yes. For the show She Kills Monsters, Mx. McLay was the head of puppet design and construction. They designed the set for a production of The Victorian Ladies’ Detective Collective.
